Nevertheless

Vocabulary.com states that it is a funny looking adverb that appears to be made up of three words squished together. It’s defined as “even so”, “all the same”, or “in spite of that”.  In the King James Bible, nevertheless is written in numerous verses. Yet, in our modern English, it is a word that we don’t recite or hear spoken very often. It is also interesting to note that this unique word is used numerous times in Scripture to turn a negative scenario into a positive.

Focus Scripture: “There are many devices in a man’s heart, nevertheless, the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand.” Proverbs 19:21

One thing is for certain in each of our lives – we all need a “nevertheless” and the good news is that God has an ample supply to give us. What is it in your biography that desperately needs a nevertheless? Wouldn’t you love the Lord to write a positive nevertheless in your life and family? He didn’t graduate from high school or college, nevertheless, he became a successful entrepreneur. She was never at the top of her class, nevertheless, she is now the CEO of a thriving company. He was born to alcoholic parents, nevertheless, he lives a sober life and leads the Celebrate Recovery ministry at his church. She was raised in an abusive environment, nevertheless, she is the founder of a woman’s shelter. He was raised in an agnostic family culture, nevertheless, he is a missionary in a third world country.

We all need a nevertheless that will stand solid in our life. In spite of your past or the negative atmosphere you are facing, God can turn it into a positive situation. It is simply amazing and miraculous to consider the life-changing power of God. In the darkest and most hopeless situations, He can bring light and hope. Whatever you are facing or encountering presently, don’t lose faith. There is a heavenly word to be written by the hand of God. Remember this, a nevertheless from God is always more than enough!
