Jesus Loves You

Recently, I was told the true story of a dynamic evangelist from Texas, Rev. J. T. Pugh. Many years ago, he stated that one day God spoke to him and impressed upon him to speak loudly from his hotel window the following three words “Jesus loves you!” He then shut the window, and again, he was strongly prompted to say it two more times from the window, “Jesus loves you!” The evangelist did not have an answer of why he felt to do it, yet he followed through and spoke the words boldly and with compassion.

Focus Scripture:

“For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

Years later, after speaking in a church service and sharing this story with the congregation, something wonderful was revealed to him. After the service, a stranger walked up to him and asked him the following questions, “When you said the words Jesus loves you three times in a short span, were you in a certain city, at a certain time, and in a certain hotel?” The answers were yes, yes, and yes. The man told him “I was at that hotel with a gun held to my head. The first two times I tried to pull the trigger and end my life, I was interrupted by the words being yelled Jesus loves you! The third time I heard it, I put the gun away and decided not to commit suicide. God spared my life through your words.”

Was it coincidence? Chance? Luck?  I think not. I believe it was divine intervention and a complete miracle from God. We must never underestimate the three powerful words that are far greater than any deception or lie by the enemy of our soul. It is more than a cliche -Jesus Loves You!

Whatever you are facing today – whether it is fear, anxiety, overwhelming stress, trials, or terrible tribulations, let these words echo through the darkest chambers of your heart – Jesus loves you! You are valuable and deeply loved by Him. There is no greater love and there is no greater life-changing message for the overwhelmed and the broken. Oh, how He cares and oh, how He loves you and me. “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13
