In The Morning

I wholeheartedly believe that there is no better way to start a day than early morning prayer. Many are disciplined to exercise early, finish chores, and to begin their work very early, but there is nothing more impacting and beneficial than an early morning appointment of prayer unto God.

Focus Scripture:

“In the morning, Lord you hear my voice. In the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.” Psalm 5:3

“Morning” – the word itself is like a cluster of fresh grapes crushed into a tantalizing juice for us to drink. It is the time and place in which we can bury the fatigue and stress of yesterday and launch a new day of victory won in prayer. Morning prayer is where we can be refreshed, invigorated, and empowered to begin our daily climb.

The Psalmist states that in the morning Lord you hear my voice. It is a reminder that “His eyes are over the righteous and His ears are open unto their prayers.” We are privileged to lay everything before Him with the expectation that He will respond. Oh, how blessed the day that first of all begins with a sweet, sanctified, time of prayer.

Before the rushed frenzy of another morning fills our daily schedule, let us all make time to have an early tea or coffee with the Lord. “Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.” Psalm 143:8

What a hope to know that as the birds awaken and the shadows flee, I am with thee!

Give God the fresh blossoms of the day. Never make Him wait until the petals have faded. Frederick Farrar
