The Living God

The increasing challenges to our faith and the ever-changing circumstances of this present life can be staggering and overwhelming at times. While many look for answers in all the wrong places, the revelation of God’s existence is an unshakable landmark for every generation. The phrase “the living God” is mentioned numerous times in Scripture. Great men of God like Daniel, Joshua, Jeremiah, Paul, and others wrote this powerful phrase of truth. Yet, despite being written numerous places in the Bible and unmistakably proven, it is the very thing we are prone to forget.

Focus Scripture:

“Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you?” Daniel 6:20

However, what a hope we have to hang on to – the timeless truth of who He still is. What a multitude of words that we all could eloquently express in regards to who He is to us individually. For the timeless fact is that He still is, and will be, forevermore the unchanging, living God. “For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, specially of those that believe.”1 Timothy 4:10.

Politicians, philosophers, and false gods speak and work for a short season and then pass away and fall silent. People come and they go. Empires and kingdoms rise and fall. Yet, the Lord abides. Humanity good and bad dies, but the living God lives! Let us never forget the timeless truth of the everlasting Father. During our heaviest trials, greatest difficulties, and deepest needs, He will never fail. “But the Lord is the true God, He is the living God and the everlasting King.” Jeremiah 10:10
