A Bunch of Bologna

The Headline news back on February 12th read this way, “Nearly 200 lbs. of illegal bologna was confiscated by US Customs and Border Protection agents at the New Mexico border. They found 22 rolls of contraband that weighed close to 200 lbs. hidden in a Nissan Rogue and in the driver’s luggage.” Ladies and gentlemen, may I add to this strange news that this was a bunch of bologna. 🙂  I was aware of the constant struggle to keep illegal drugs and other things from entering our nation at the border, but illegal bologna is a new one for me.

Focus Scripture:

“Search me, O God, and know my heart. Try me and know my thoughts, and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23,24

I think most of us would agree that there is way too much bad news/bologna that can be digested on a daily basis. In fact, certain opinions and reports of the media can literally bring depression and discouragement if allowed into our minds. If you haven’t noticed lately, the worst news is promoted daily, and bad news is what constantly bombards our hearts and minds. Let me say that’s it’s highly important to set boundaries and to be a gatekeeper of our minds. It is imperative that we focus on the good things of life, and not all of the bologna that is hidden under the surface. Let us determine to focus on the Good News which is the gospel, and which emphatically declares that there are better days and greater blessings to come.

“Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23
